Brittany Burchfield Elected VP of Student Life for Union College SGA

Union College recently held campus-wide elections for next year's Student Government Association. Brittany Burchfield, of Pineville, was elected as VP of Student Life.

Burchfield, a Senior at Union College, said that with her win, she hopes to make campus life better through improving the little things.

"There are a lot of little things that most people may not notice, such as doing laundry in the wrong spot, pets on campus and other things that may seem like nothing to some people, but could ruin someone else's day, " Burchfield said. "I want to start making people more aware of the little things that often get overlooked."

Burchfield added that one big project she hoped to get started was an on-campus daycare for student moms.

"I've noticed a lot of students here on campus who do have kids, and I would like to get something started for them," Burchfield said. "Not only would it make it easier for them to attend class, it would help the campus bring in more revenue."

The elections were held campuswide, and students voted Thursday March 29 and Friday March 30. The winners were announced on Monday April 2. Burchfield ran unopposed. This will be the first time she has served on Union College's Student Government Association.
