Kari Williamson Recognized at Union College's Honors Day Convocation

Kari Williamson of Barbourville was recently recognized at Union College's annual Honors Day Convocation.

Williamson a sophomore at Union, won the Bjornstad Freshman Composition Award given to the student achieving the highest writing excellence in freshman composition courses as determined by the English Department. The award was presented to Williamson by Dr. Jimmy Smith. It is given by Mrs. William B. Bjornstad and the late Dr. Bjornstad who served as Professor of English and Head of the Department of Languages

Williamson was one of only 35 Union students to recieve an award at this year's ceremony. The ceremony for the Honors Day Convocation took place at the Conway Boatman Chapel on Union campus Thursday, April 12 at 9:30 a.m.
