Melissa Walters Recognized at Union College's Honors Day Convocation

Melissa Walters of Middlesboro was recently recognized at Union College's annual Honors Day Convocation.

Walters a senior at Union, won the Yetta Frank and Billie Lynch Non-traditional Student Education Award given to a full-time non-traditional senior female student with dependent children who has a GPA of 3.0 or higher based on total hours earned at Union College. The award was presented to Walters by Dr. Jason Reeves. Yetta Frank and Billie Lynch are the mothers of the late Carol Lynch ('08) and former education faculty member Steven Lynch

Walters was one of only 35 Union students to recieve an award at this year's ceremony. The ceremony for the Honors Day Convocation took place at the Conway Boatman Chapel on Union campus Thursday, April 12 at 9:30 a.m.
