Richard Mathes Recognized at Union College's Honors Day Convocation

Richard Mathes of Corbin was recently recognized at Union College's annual Honors Day Convocation.

Mathes a junior at Union, won the Stephen C. Skidmore Memorial Award "Excellence in Economics" given to the junior minoring in economics with the highest overall GPA. The award was presented to Mathes by Mr. Camden Skidmore. It is given by the famiy of Stephen C. Skidmore. Mr. Skidmore is the lat husband of Jane Skidmore, Union College alumna, who is currently a member of the Board of Trustees

Mathes was one of only 35 Union students to recieve an award at this year's ceremony. The ceremony for the Honors Day Convocation took place at the Conway Boatman Chapel on Union campus Thursday, April 12 at 9:30 a.m.
