Richard Mathes Recognized at Union College's Honors Day Convocation

Richard Thomas Mathes of Corbin was recently recognized at Union College's annual Honors Day Convocation.

Mathes won the Dr. L. A. Geiss Senior Award given to the senior business major with the highest cumulative standing in that field and the Dr. Erwin S. Bradley History Award given to the upperclass history major who has the highest scholastic average in overall grades in history earned at Union College. The awards were presented to Mathes by Dr. Carolyn Payne and Dr. Russell Sisson, respectively.

Mathes was one of only 30 Union students to receive an award at this year's ceremony. The ceremony for the Honors Day Convocation took place at the Conway Boatman Chapel on Union campus Thursday, April 18 at 9:30 a.m.
